Adeline Ballmer Obituary

Manton, Michigan - Adeline Martha (Willett) Ballmer, of Manton, passed away peacefully in her own home with her oldest daughter and youngest sister by her side. Adeline passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, following a stroke during the night of February 4th.  She was 87.

She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 30, 1930 to Lawrence Ami and Viola Mae (Reed) Willett. Her siblings were Mary Loretta (Carson), Robert Ray, Oveda Pauline (Crowder), and Donna Esther.  She spent most of her younger years growing up surrounded by the lovely Free Methodist Community of Caldwell Township near Manton. It was at the Manton Free Methodist camp meeting that she stated in her diary entry of  August 1, 1946, "I went to the altar and the Lord marvelously sanctified me". She was a very active church member, serving as a Sunday school teacher for all ages, treasurer, bookkeeper, and attended all church meetings held; loving to pray with others around the altar. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Leroy Ballmer on June 16, 1954. Adeline helped her husband develop a nice self-sufficient dairy farm in Caldwell Township. She was fun-loving and enjoyed spending time with their daughters, who were all trained to be church musicians as well as to farm. Adeline was known as a dependable, serious Christian and prayed faithfully for her family, neighbors and friends to walk with the Lord in salvation and holiness to the end.

Adeline is survived by her daughters, Esther Mae (Gabriel) Mancino, Mary Louise (Ric) DelleCave, Priscilla Elaine (Randy) Razmus and Joyce Marie (Mike) Olsen; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert of Manton; sister, Donna of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brothers-in-law, Robert (Cathy), Russell (Phyllis) and James Staley; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; sisters, Loretta, and Oveda and their husbands James and Basil; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Joanne; and a grandson, Joel Olsen.
