Cadillac, MI - Ann Blethen Hunt, 76, of Cadillac, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Ann was born on March 26, 1941 at Pawating Hospital in Niles, MI. Ann was a 1959 graduate from Layfayette High School in Lexington, KY. She graduated from Illinois Masonic Nursing School (Chicago, IL) in 1968 as an RN. In 1968 Ann married Thomas W. Hunt at the First Presbyterian Church in Niles, MI. She worked at Butterworth Hospital Grand Rapids, MI and Crittenton Hospital, Rochester, MI. She was a piano teacher for countless years to many students both young and old. Also as a Piano accompanist for the Cadillac Public Schools Vocal Music department and United Methodist Church for 38 Years. Ann was a member of the Cadillac United Methodist Church for 45 years.

The love of music was Ann’s passion. She enjoyed this love of music with dear friend Jan Nelson. Together they performed beautiful piano-organ duets on Sunday mornings, two piano concerts for Cadillac Philharmonic and Mountain Music on Dulcimers for the Cadillac Art Fair. She played Clarinet with the Cadillac Symphony Orchestra for 38 years. She loved all types of Music from Classical to Mountain. In particular, she enjoyed accompanying countless Musicals: West Side Story, Bye-Bye Birdie, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, Annie, Music Man, Brigadoon, My Fair Lady, the King & I, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods, Cinderella, The Secret Garden and Where’s Charlie.

Ann is survived by her husband of 49 years, Tom; his daughter, Jennifer Hunt VanderWall and husband Kevin VanderWall; grandchildren, Noel, Hunter and Acadia VanderWall; granddaughter, Anya Hunt and her mother, Liesel Beck; brothers, Wayne (Ana) Blethen, Steve (Marilyn) Blethen; brother-in-law, Don Hunt; nephew, Terry (Devon) Blethen; nieces, Stephanie (Jason) Hooton and Heidi Blethen; nephew, Jay (Erica) Hunt and niece, Diane Hunt.

Preceded in death by her parents, Carroll Blethen, Emily Blethen Ward and Louis Ward; in-laws, Marion "Hunky" Hunt and Martha Thompson Hunt; sister-in-law, Nancy Flaugh Hunt; and her beloved son, William "Billy" Hunt.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cadillac Philharmonic Club, United Methodist Church of Cadillac or a charity of one’s choice.

Celebration of life for Ann will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, March 24, at United Methodist Church of Cadillac with Fellowship and Afterglow following the service.
