Kalkaska- Betty Jean Mohler, life long resident of the Manton area, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Kalkaska's Long-Term Care. She was 86.
Betty was born into a large family on October 11, 1931, in Greenwood Township, to loving parents, Charles and Lena (Foote) Scott. On July 31, 1948, Betty entered into marriage with Cecil Mohler, who preceded her in death on September 5, 1981.
Betty made her living working with Manton Industries, retiring after 21 years of service. She enjoyed knitting and quilting or spending time adding to her collection of angels. She was a faithful member of Rollins Christian Fellowship, as well as, a part of the Liberty Ladies Aid and the Manton Senior Center. She was a matriarch to her family and a very proud grandmother.
Betty is survived by her family; her children, Walter Mohler, Al (Nancy) Mohler, Grant (Roberta) Mohler, Cecil (Lisa) Mohler, Marie (William) Kruger, Shirley (Dan) Hurlburt, Sylvia (Chad) Hart, and Bethany (Dale) Perry; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren with two more anticipated soon; her sister, Freda; many other loving family members, as well as several close staff members and residents from her home at Kalkaska's Long-Term Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; a son, Roger Mohler; seven brothers, Guy, Lloyd, Orville, Percy, Billy, Robert, and Louis; three sisters, Irene, Elvina, and Luella; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Mohler.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Rollins Christian Fellowship, with Rev. Bart Glupker officiating.
A private interment will be held at Greenwood Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Rollins Christian Fellowship, the Manton Senior Center, or the charity of one's choice.
The family would like to extend their thanks to all those that showed comfort and care to Betty in the last few years, including all those at Kalkaska's Long Term Care and Heartland Hospice.
