Waterford, Michigan - Clifford H. Martinson of Waterford, Michigan, formerly of Marion, Michigan, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Drakewood Manor in Waterford. He was 90.

Clifford was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1927, in Marion, Michigan to Harry and Maybel (Jack) Martinson. He answered the call of duty serving in the United States Navy during World War II. Clifford entered into marriage with Edna Joyce McNaughton on November 11, 1950 in Flint, Michigan. He spent his career working as a product engineer for the automotive industry until his time of retirement in 1989. Clifford and Edna enjoyed traveling around the states on their Gold Wing motorcycle, spending parts of the year in Clayton, GA, Roscommon, MI and Zephyrhills, FL. In his spare time, Clifford enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edna J. Martinson; three daughters, Debra Ann (Mike) Collins of Waterford, MI, Darlene Kay (Dell) Fields of Waterford, MI and Dorinda Lynn (Steve) Balanecki of Orion, MI; grandchildren, Danielle (Jeremie) Hanna, Michael (Laura Jackson) Collins and Mitchell (Audra) Collins; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cody and Logan Hanna, and Jolie Collins; siblings, Clayton Martinson, Agnes Carie and Joyce Punt; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Maybel; and three siblings; Bob Martinson, Nellie Neighbors and Wynona Edson.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2018 (CHANGE OF DATE) at 11:00 a.m. at the Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Williams to preside. Following the services at the church, a committal ceremony will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 12 noon with military honors provided by the Marion VFW. A time of food and fellowship will be held after the interment at the Marion Baptist Church.
