Harrietta, Michigan - David Ryan "Bubba" Lipe, of Harrietta passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was 59.

David was born on July 2, 1958, in Muskegon, Michigan to Omar "Bob" and Leona (Bash) Lipe. David entered into marriage with Margaret "Peggy", the couple spent 32 years together until her time of passing in 2014. David and Peggy moved to Traverse City and became parents to a daughter and a son. The family moved to Mesick, where he took employment working at Kampvilla for many years. His family will remember him as being a hard and organized worker. David enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a proud host and catered many events for his friends and family. He had a passion for motorcycles, especially his Harley. David was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and big-hearted friend to many.

David is survived by his two children, Ryan (Whitney) Lipe and Nicole (Ed) Schultz; significant other, Lisa Johnson; grandchildren, Liam, Harbor, Bryce, Wyatt, Landon, Aubrie, Lane and Ashlynn; sister, Sharon (Gene) Yordy; brother, Rodney Lipe; sister-in-law, Lori (Kevin) Hibbard; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy; brother, Buzz Lipe; and sister, Sue Lipe.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 1 pm with visitation held one hour prior at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Bruce Sheets. Interment will take place at Mesick-Sherman Cemetery in the spring.
