Tom was born on November 17, 1928, in Ludington, Michigan to Charles and Eva (Davison) Moriarty. He answered the call of duty serving in the U.S Army during World War II. On August 7, 1954 Tom entered into marriage with the former Jan Davenport in Ludington, Michigan. He spent the early start of his career working for car ferry's in Ludington, which put him through college. After receiving a Bachelor Degree in Science from Western Michigan University, Tom attended dentistry schooling at the University of Michigan from which he graduated with a doctorate in dentistry in 1957. Tom came to Cadillac, where he joined Dr. Mosberg's dental practice. After a few years, Tom took over as owner and operated the dentistry himself. At the time of his retirement at 70 years old, he proudly sold his practice to the Ritzema's. Tom was an active member of the community and volunteered his time in several organizations including the Optimists Club, the Cadillac Jaycee's, CASA, and Civil Service for Police and Fire for over 35 years. He was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church where he also served on the finance committee and as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. In his spare time, Tom would hand-carve wooden duck decoys. He loved taking photos of his grandchildren at their sporting events and his grandchildren will cherish their fond memories of him. Tom loved watching football and was a huge fan of the U of M football team. For 65 years, Tom was a season ticket-holder to all of the U of M football games.
