Marion, Michigan - George Robert Richardson, of Marion passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his home in Marion with his family by his side. He was 78.

George was born on November 10, 1938, in Pontiac, Michigan to George and Ruby Richardson. He met the former Sharon Lee Anthony in school and later entered into marriage in 1956 in Indiana. The couple began their life together down in Waterford, MI starting their family. He spent his career working for General Motors. George and Sharon later relocated to George's family property in Winterfield Township, where they spent the last 22 years. He loved his 80 acres and was always deer hunting.

George is survived by his wife, Sharon Lee Richardson; son, George Richardson; six grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and many other loving family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his three daughters, Linda Lee Richardson, Tammy Ann Richardson and Michele Richardson; one granddaughter, Christina Lynn Holmes; and his parents.

A visitation gathering will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home in Marion. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice.
