Janet K. Rowley, age 75, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday October 5, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. 

Janet was born on September 15, 1942 in Flint, Michigan to Shellie and Amanda (West) Thomas. Janet worked as a Realtor for many years. She was married on July 24, 1965 in Flint to Richard F. Rowley. The couple moved to Houghton Lake in 1990 from Clio but had been vacationing here since 1975. Janet was a member of the Houghton Lake Elks, Houghton Lake Eagles, Pineview Golf League, Houghton Lake Garden Club and the Red Hats. She enjoyed boating, cooking but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.  

Janet is survived by her daughter; Shelly (Steve) Rogers of Houghton Lake; two sons, Richard R. (Carla) Rowley of Houghton Lake, Rod (Stacy) Rowley of Houghton Lake; grandchildren, Lauren, Lacey (Damon), Ryan, Brett, Brianne, and Rex; great grandchildren, Damon, Emilynn, and, Deklyn; sister, Myrna (Art) McQueen and several cousins nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard F Rowley, sisters; Joan and Almedia and brother Bill.  

A Private Graveside Service will be conducted. Memorial contributions in memory of Janet are asked to be directed to The Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/gma or mailed to 526 Chisholm, Alpena, Michigan 49707 or Leukemia Association at www.lls.org/michigan.
