Joan Patricia Kerry (Samolin) passed away on Friday November 3, 2017 at home with her daughter and son at her side. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. She will be buried at Roscommon Township Cemetery. 

She was the oldest of the four children born to Edward J. and MaryEllen (Corcoran) Samolin on February 14, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. She resided previously in Detroit, Saginaw and Flint. She was affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, VFW Post #4034, member of the Houghton Lake Eagles #3201 and retired from Amerigas. 

She was predeceased by daughter Vicky Marie (Loesel) Ford, husband Joe A. Kerry, two sisters and spouses, Helene and Mike Lambert, Diane and John Chase, brother Edward Lawrence Samolin-Zuellig, and biological parents and step-father Perl E. Zuellig. She is survived by daughter Lynn (Larry) Boult, San Antonio, Texas, son Robert aka Bobby Havrilla, Houghton Lake, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren who called her "Grandma-Great" , son-in-law Francis (Deborah) Ford, many good friends and neighbors and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for the care they have shown.
