Manton, Michigan - Kathleen "Kathy" Bridson, of Caldwell Township, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at her daughter's home with family by her side. She was 80 years old.

Kathy was born on July 2, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan to Willis and Clara (Goldsmith) Mathews. She entered into marriage with Richard Allen Bridson on March 26, 1955, in Manton; celebrating over 57 years together before his passing in 2013. 

Kathy was very active and supportive of the Buckley Steam Engine Show, especially in the making of the wagon wheel rugs.  She was also involved with the Missaukee-Falmouth 4-H with her children and other 4-H families.  Kathy will be remembered for her ability to make wedding cakes and trucking with her husband for over 25 years.

Kathy is survived by her children; Lan (Shelby) Bridson, Kam (Gary) Birgy, and Tim (Chris) Bridson; her grandchildren, Clint (Jodi) Bridson, Nicole Bridson, Karie (Jason) Hankins, Chad (Alena) Birgy, Gene (Katie) Birgy, Brad (Jessie) Birgy, Noel (Jennifer) Bridson, Walker (Stephanie) Bridson, Ferrin Bridson; 14 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; her brothers, Duane and Ben Mathews and one sister, Maron; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard and a son, Jim Bridson.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place from 2 pm until 6 pm on June 10, 2017 at Rollin Christian Fellowship in Manton; family and friends are encouraged to bring a favorite dish to pass and share in the time to visit. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to, Hospice of Michigan, Munson Home Healthcare, or the Memorial Wall at the Buckley Steam Engine Show.
