Kathleen M. (Janik) Scott

Kathleen M. Scott, 84, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday March 12, 2018 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Houghton Lake, Mi.

Kathleen was born on October 23, 1933 in Durand, Michigan to Steven and Katrina (Horcha) Janik. Kathleen grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. Kathleen worked as an Assembly Worker for General Motors for many years. On June 20, 1953 in Durand Kathleen was married to John H. Scott. The couple moved from Durand to Houghton Lake in 1990. Kathleen was a member of the Lake Township Ladies.

Surviving Mrs. Scott are her three grandchildren, Jeremy (Audrey) Yeiter, Andy Yeiter, and Kimberly (Donald) Beckman; great grandchildren, Riley, Reese, Ethan, Lincoln, Sophie, Alexis, Adrianna, Avery, and Miles; son-in-law, David Yeiter of Owosso; and brother, Thomas (Connie) Janik of Houghton Lake. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John H. Scott; and daughter, Kathy Jo Yeiter. 

Funeral Services for Kathleen M. Scott will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, March 16, 2018  from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Pastor Ted Voll officiating. Interment will be in Lovejoy Cemetery in Durand. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 15, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Kathleen are asked to be directed to Heartland Hospice. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
