August 1, 2017 9:09 AM

Just got the news that another Greatest Generation hero of mine, has left our earthly bonds to fly high in the sky, as a free spirit. On behalf of Mid-Michigan Honor Flight, we wish to extend our sympathy to Patrick and the family. We too share in your sorrow. You are not alone. I remember Patrick and Larry well from their Honor Flight with our Hub.

To the entire Parr family--- my deepest condolences to all of you after hearing the news of Larry's passing. He was my buddy, my friend and my long time patient. He knew how to always get me to laugh or smile on days that he sensed I was troubled or flustered. I will never ever forget his contagious smile or laugh and witty sense of humor. Over the years I really did get to know him well and we are all gonna miss him terribly in the office. He truly was " our favorite"!!! I will miss all of our long deep conversations that we sometimes had. He always seemed to run into trouble when I was always gone away to conference or out of town and he didn't ever want to bother me....he was never ever a bother, he was always someone that I looked forward to taking care of. I will miss him tons but will never ever forget him. He always asked how my husband and girls were and just was a pleasure to spend time with. To the family- his sons/daughter/daughter in law/ grandkids/ and even the great grands he was so PROUD of all of you and spoke about each of you. So glad I met him almost 10 years ago! I love you Larry and will miss you and the look you would give me when you didn't want to do what I wanted you to! Behave up there and I am happy that you are now with your wife whom you missed so much too!! Love ya--- Dr. Tracy

Dear Larry J., Patrick, Tracy, Mary and family. It is never easy losing a loved one, for this Is true, but please remember all the good times you shared, and all the wonderful memories you have grown to cherish over the years, for I believe that they are always there with us in our hearts and in our minds, and as long as one of us remembers them they will never be forgotten. I and all of you will always keep Uncle Larry close to our hearts, although the miles have kept us apart you are always in my prayers and thoughts.

Keeping you all in our prayers love always your cousin
John Baker, Liverpool, Nova Scotia

We were saddened and shocked to hear about Larry's passing! Patricia my sister and my brother-in-law Larry played a very big part in my life growing up. LArry always reminded me of the handsome actor, Clark Gable, Pat and I had many a giggle at how handsome he was!! Jackie, my husband, and I visited Michigan nearly every long weekend for a few years. We really knew the highway from their homes to Ontario, Canada. UNfortunetly, time and lives changed and the visits became less and less. When we moved to Nova Scotia, Patricia was the one to travelled to us, while Larry stayed home and took care of business! Rest In peace Larry, you had a long life which was made even fuller by your children, grand-children and great grand babies. In my eyes, Larry there wasn't anything you couldn't do, hunt, fish ,
Drive trucks, drive boats etc. I had the marks on my arms for days of you trying to teach me to water ski, you got a man scared of water up, do you remember!! How we stood on the beach and cheered as Jackie went around the lake!! Haha. My sister Pat loved you till the end of her life, through thick and thin, she loved you. Larry Jay, Tracy and family, I want to thank you for all the love , understanding and care you gave him. I know his live was longer with your loving care!!! Patrick, Mary and family my condolences to you all, Imknow there is a big empty spot in your hearts since his passing!
Love to the Parr Family. From Aunt Barb., Cousins John,Pamela, Leah, Ayden, Cousin William, Tina and Austin Baker Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada

Hello Ryan, I am heart broken for you at your loss. My Grandparents are long gone...but those funerals were the hardest thing...because of the closeness we shared. I decided to take one or two things that I learned from them...and make it my own. So I cook and sew like my Grandma's did...I enjoy the outdoors, taking care of animals and farming like my Grandpa's. I hope you find something special to hold in your heart ..that will keep them close too you as you get older. Sending love and Sammie kisses your way!

So sorry for your loss Larry and family. I'm so glad that I got to see him just a few short weeks ago before he left. I will always remember him on that scooter at the truck shows with his dog. He was a great man and so very appreciative of all that Larry and Tracy did to help with all of his needs during his remaining time on earth. Life will not be the same without him in your home, just take comfort knowing that you both did everything possible to bring a smile to that handsome face.

To the Parr Family, so so sadden by the loss of your Dad. I enjoyed him every time I see him for a short visit here and there. He was such a great man and my boys looked up to him. We were so lucky to know him and have him as a dear friend. Your Mom and him are together again with lots of good stories to share. I loved them both and we spent a lot of time over coffee and donuts together. Great memories.

I didn't know Me. Parr but I know Patrick and I know Ryan Youngs. He must have done something right because they are two of the finest people I know. My condolences to the entire family.
