Cadillac, Michigan - Leslie Alden Clark, of Cadillac and formerly of Manton, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital. He was 89.

Leslie was born November 15, 1927  in Honor, to parents Fayette and Hattie (Novak) Clark. He began working in his father's sawmill as a teenager before going to factory work in Traverse City and then Frankfort Pet Inc; from which he retired in 1990, the same year he married Helen Malone Essington on June 30th.  Les had a passion for airplanes and received his pilots license logging 100 hours flight time around Michigan.  He answered the call to duty serving in the United Stated Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

In his retirement he enjoyed wood working making a variety of craft items. His pride and joy was an airplane he made from a small two inch picture he liked.  He was a member of Northern Light Church in Cadillac often serving as greeter on Sundays.  He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Clark of Cadillac, his two sons, Doug Clark and Al Clark of Honor; two daughters, Pat (Mark) Richmond and Kathy (Casey) Tatch of Grawn; step-children Mary (Dennis) Haskin of Pickney, Mark (Polly) Essington of Lake City, and Marj (Bill) Bogart of Manton, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as one sister, Gladys Wilson of Maple City.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores (Braden) Clark, his parents, and a son, Glen.
