Lake City, Michigan - Marian Joy Robinson, of Manton passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Belle Oakes Living Center in Lake City. She was 83.
Marian was born on April 30, 1934, in Manton, Michigan to LaForest and Thelma (Jenkins) O'Dell. Marian entered into marriage on August 6, 1952 with Lloyd Robinson in Manton. The couple celebrated their 25th anniversary renewing their wedding vows in Hawaii. She liked to spend time outdoors gardening her flowers and taking credit for gardening the vegetables. She was most proud of her restaurant, the Irish Inn in Manton, which she owned and operated for 15 years until her time of retirement. Many memories were made throughout her career at the restaurant, from employing her grandchildren to do odds and ends jobs, to helping out the Manton community by hiring people that needed the help, donating her time and food to different Manton clubs such as Rotary, Manton Rescue Squad, or Girl Scout Troops. She loved having family get-togethers at the restaurant. She often held Sunday dinners for everyone there, and even Christmas dinners. Marian had a very giving and caring heart and always invited a random guest to Christmas dinner, she would leave the back door open to anyone that wanted to join. Marian always spoiled her grandchildren with a special, from-the-heart gift at any holiday. She was involved in several clubs around town including City Council. Marian was a faithful member of the Manton United Methodist Church and will be remembered for her swiss steak dinners for the fundraisers at the church. Throughout their marriage, her and Lloyd traveled around to Canada, Florida, Mexico and even Aruba. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marian  is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Lloyd Robinson ; three children, Pam Winkelmann, Randy (Shelly Robson) Robinson and Craig (Cheryl) Robinson; 9 grandchildren, Jason (Jen) Luhrs, Carly (Rene) Lafreniere, Jessica (B) Andersen, Brooke (Gerald) Baker, West Robinson, Ethan (Miranda) Robinson, Justin (Connie) Winkelmann, Tiffany Robinson and Jase Robinson; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patti (Ray) Fernandes; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Charles Winkelmann; grandson, Caleb Robinson; and three brothers, Toby O'Dell, Alan O'Dell and Harold "Oats" O'Dell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Manton United Methodist Church with visitation held one hour prior.
