Myron Holuk, 93, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday August 26, 2017 at The Brook of Houghton Lake with his loving family by his side.
Myron was born on November 3, 1923 in Cass City, Michigan to Michael and Mary Holyk. He grew up in the Detroit area on a family farm. Myron served as a CPL in the Army Air Corp working on gyroscope radar units during World War II. He worked as a milling machine operator for Ex-Cello Corp in Highland Park from which he retired. On May 14, 1945 in Madison, Wisconsin, Myron was married to Antoinette B. Pierzchala. The couple moved to Houghton Lake from Redford Township in 1979. Surviving Mr. Holuk are his three daughters, Sharon Neely of PA, Diane (Richard) Mauck of Prudenville, and Donna Compeau of Southgate; four grandchildren, Todd (Jen) Neely, Lance (Becky) Neely, Rich (Mindy) Mauck, and Kirk (Lisa) Mauck; four great grandchildren, Alexa Neely, Brynn Neely, Ahnicka Neely, and Molly Mauck. Myron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Antoinette B. Holuk; sister, Tillie Estrada; and brother, John Holuk.
Funeral Services for Myron Holuk will take place at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel on Wednesday August 30, 2017 11 am with Father Bernard Tyler officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday August 29, 2017 at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel from 4-8 pm with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm. Memorial contributions in memory of Myron are asked to be directed to the American Cancer Society. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
