Manton, Michigan - Peggy R. Cornett, a longtime resident of Manton passed away peacefully at her Manton home following a short illness on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was 91.

Peggy was born on June 2, 1926, in Troy, Michigan. She was the last surviving child of 15 brothers and sisters of George and Bertha (Strouse) Cinader. Following World War II, she married Carl Cornett in 1947.  For nearly 70 years she remained a loyal and loving wife and mother, helping her husband hand-build their first home to running a family business in Manton for 25 years. She remains sorely missed by those whose lives she touched who knew her as a hard working, supportive, caring person. They may take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband in death.

Peggy leaves behind one son, David Cornett of Manton; two grandchildren, Tonya (Jason) Cornett-Roelof of Kingsley and Sean Cornett of Grand Rapids; 6 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 2016, her parents and 15 siblings. She remained active in life, but spoke often about rejoining her beloved husband.

A committal service and interment will take place in the spring at Walton Junction Cemetery in Fife Lake.
