Stephen C. Brumfield, age 65, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday December 14, 2017 at West Branch Regional Medical Center.

Stephen was born on September 5, 1952 in Buckhannon, West Virginia to Kenney and Dixie (Long) Brumfield. He served as a Private in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam. Stephen worked as a Facility Manager for Johnson Controls in Romulus before retiring. He was married on June 30, 1972 in Westland to Sherry Perrin. He was an avid football fan and cheered on the Indianapolis Colts, he enjoyed being a craftsman, loved learning about history, enjoyed reading and was known as a jokester and story teller. 

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sherry Brumfield of Houghton Lake; son; Jeremy (Tracy) Brumfield of Garden City, daughter; Katie (Eric) Goble of Westland, two grandchildren Alexander and Morgan and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

Per Stephen's wishes cremation has taken place and private services will be held.
