June Ellouise Stetler, 95, of Higgins Lake passed away on Wednesday March 13, 2024 at The Brook of Houghton Lake.
June was born on June 2, 1928 in Kendallville, Indiana to John D. and Alice C.(Goudy) Miller. She grew up in the Battle Creek area where she married Dean Stetler, and Dean preceded her in death. Later she married Afton Root, whom also preceded her in death. June worked for many years as an administrative assistant at Clark Equipment in Battle Creek. She later moved to the Northville area where she worked for Multi Financial Services, Gulf & Western Mfg. in Southfield, and Evans Products Company in Detroit. She moved to her daughter's home at Higgins Lake four years ago. June held the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary of Clark Women's Organization for many years. She was also active in the ABWA , Mitten Chapter, where she was voted Women of the Year, and held the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary. June attended Houghton Lake Global Methodist Church. In her younger years she was involved in her church choir and activities. She enjoyed crafting in her later years.
Surviving Mrs.Stetler are her three daughters, Dena (Rodney) Hale of Belleaire, FL, Debra(Dan) Levite of Fishers, IN, and Dawn (Douglas) Welton of Higgins Lake; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean Stetler; husband, Afton Root; great great grandson, Remington Thompson; sister, Ann Floria; and brother Buddy Miller.
Graveside services for June Ellouise Stetler will be conducted at 12:00pm on Saturday June 15, 2024 at Reese Cemetery, Springfield, Michigan, with Rev. Kevin Harbin officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of June are asked to be directed to the Houghton Lake Global Methodist Church. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
