Anna Marie Skwarek, age 95, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at home with her loving son by her side.

Anna was born on July 25, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to Stanley and Pelagia (Sulewski) Lechert. She graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor's of Chemistry. Anna was married in 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Leonard R. Skwarek. She was formerly a chairman on the Markey Township Zoning Board, was a National Champion Rifle Shooter in College and enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, puzzles, fisherman and an avid deer hunter and hunted in the 2017 season.

Anna is survived by her son; John Skwarek of Detroit, grandson; Justin Skwarek of Redford, granddaughter; Jennifer Skwarek of Troy. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and husband; Dr. Leonard R Skwarek Sr., son; Leonard Skwarek, Jr., sister; Maria Pawloski, brother; Stanley Lechert, Jr.

Per Anna's wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. Memorial contributions in memory of Anna are asked to be directed to Project Hope aka Roscommon County Food Pantry. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
