Bruce W. Thompson

McBain, Michigan - Bruce W. Thompson, of Marion passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Autumnwood of McBain. He was 89.

Bruce was born on June 1, 1929, in Marion, Michigan to Fred and Hazel (Palmer) Thompson. He answered the call of duty serving in the United States Army. Bruce entered into marriage with the former Betty A. Thompson on October 3, 1953 in Marion, Michigan. He spent his career working for General Motors in the Pontiac Motor Division as a Press Operator for over 30 years until his time of retirement. Bruce enjoyed spending time outdoors working in the yard. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty A. Thompson of Marion; children, Kenneth (Robyn) Thompson of Oak Ridge, TN, Jack Thompson of Marion, Rex (Michele) Thompson of Cresson, TX, Linda (Marshall) Jensen of Evart, Warren "Dean" Thompson of Paris, MI; Arnold Thompson of Marion, and Mary Thompson of LeRoy; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 siblings; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel and 7 siblings.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Highland Township Cemetery in Tustin with military honors provided by the Marion VFW.
