Carmoneta Leone (McCauley) Nowland

McBain, Michigan - Carmoneta Leone Nowland, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 85.

Carmoneta was born on December 10, 1932, in Marion Township, Michigan to Edward and Louise (Lux) McCauley. She entered into marriage with Edward Nowland on December 24, 1949 in Osceola County. The couple were married  44 years, until his time of passing on December 9, 1995. Carmoneta spent her career working several different jobs including child care, at the Cadillac News and for Kountry Kettle Restaurant, but her most honorable job was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with her friends and neighbors. Carmoneta liked spend time outdoors whether it was on family camping trips, visiting neighbors or going for car rides to see lighthouses. She was a faithful member of the Marion Eagles.

Carmoneta is survived by her children, Marie (Darwin) Johnson, Edward (Smitty) Nowland, Carmoneta (Stanley) Romatz, Gary (JoAnn) Nowland, Frank (Ann) Nowland, Rita (Glen) Moggo, Beth (Larry) Ashby-Hummel, Robert Nowland, Suzie Nowland, Carl (Diann) Nowland and Kandi (Bill) Breininger; son-in-law, Larry (Cheryl) Seeley; 38 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Pat) McCauley; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Nowland; four children, Sarah Nowland, Cozette Seeley, Robin Nowland and David Nowland; four grandchildren, Eddie, Derrick, Annie and Billy; one great-grandchild, Anthony; three brothers, Carl McCauley, Jerry McCauley and Robert McCauley; and a sister Mary Ann.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Marion High School with Rev. Jim Mort to preside. Interment will take place at Lux Cemetery in Marion.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for funeral expenses, any remaining will be donated to the charity of their choice.
