Cassidy Ann Hamel

Cassidy Ann Hamel, 31, of  Houghton Lake and her unborn daughter, Clarissa Rose Buck, passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.

Cassidy was born on November 1, 1988 in Cadillac, Michigan to Kevin and Kelly (Barnes) Hamel. She spent all of her life in the Houghton Lake area where she graduated from Houghton Lake Community Schools in 2008.  Cassidy worked as a cashier for Walmart, Shell, and presently at Admiral gas.  She enjoyed fishing and NASCAR, had a passion for scratching lottery tickets, and was known for her stubborn streak.  Her special love was her son Carter.

Surviving Ms. Hamel are her son, Carter Hamel of Houghton Lake; parents, Kevin and Kelly Hamel of Houghton Lake; brother, Daniel(Amy) Barnes of Higgins Lake; aunt and uncle, Jana (George) Dufort of Leslie; two nieces, Abigail Barnes of Grand Rapids, and Braelynn Barnes of Higgins Lake; nephew, Tyler Barnes of Higgins Lake; two uncles, JIm Hamel of TN, and Rick(Tina) Hamel of CA; Loving Boyfriend, Chris Buck of Houghton Lake; special mom and dad, Jay and Georgia Buck of Houghton Lake; several cousins.  Cassidy was preceded in death by two uncles, Mark Barnes, and Jim Barnes. 

Memorial Services for Cassidy Ann Hamel will be held 3:00pm Saturday January 11, 2020 from Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church with Rev. Bryan Thompson Officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00pm until the time of the service at 3:00pm on Saturday.  Memorial contributions in memory of Cassidy are asked to be directed to the family.
