Clara May Creger, age 83 of Merritt, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Wings of Hope Hospice Home in Allegan.
Clara was born February 12, 1936 in Colorado to Earl Leroy and Iva May (Nelson) Storey.
She married Melvin L. Creger on April 25, 1953 in Merritt.
Clara enjoyed watching her birds, gardening and loved to fish. As a homemaker she was cooking, baking and crocheting and enjoyed music and singing along with the tunes. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Clara is survived by her husband of sixty six years, Melvin Creger of Merritt and a son Michael (Carrie) Creger of Merritt and a daughter Sally (James Jr.) Ghist of Gobles. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason Creger, Christy (Shawn) Marcus and William (Kaycee) Elsholz and great grandchildren: Logan Creger, Corbin Marcus, Spencer, Brynleigh and Ryker Elsholz and Alexis and Gabriella Creger.
Her brothers and sisters that survive are: Howard (Sue) Storey of Wyoming, Sandra Emery and Ralph (Linda) Storey both of Houghton Lake and Lorie (Mark) DenBoer of Petoskey.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; James Storey and Ned Storey.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City, with a time of visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Burial will take place in the Butterfield Township Cemetery near Merritt.
