Darlene Dawn Wilson, age 80, of Lake City, passed away January 31, 2019 at Munson Healthcare in Cadillac.

 

She was born March 24, 1938 in Muskegon to Charles and Myrtle (Haight) Port.

 

Darlene married Donald Carl Wilson on November 3, 1984 in Cadillac.

He preceded her in death September 27, 2004.

 

Darlene attended Muskegon High School and had worked for Plumbs Grocery in Muskegon and Giant Supermarket in Cadillac. Darlene led a very active life and enjoyed ceramics, fishing, knitting, Bingo, playing cards and baking.  She was best known for her golfing abilities.  Darlene was an 8 time Women’s Club Champion between the Cadillac Country Club and the Lake City Missaukee Golf Club.

 

Darlene is survived by her children, Patrick McCormick of  Hoxeyville,  Debra McCormick of Gwinn, Steven (Lisa) McCormick of Manton and  Todd (Carol) McCormick of Brighton and step children,  Dawn Wilson of Lake City, David (Nicole) Wilson of  North Carolina and Victor Sutton of Lake City.

She is also survived by grandchildren Justin, Gregory, Steve, Kaylee, Matthew, Connor , Tracy and Cris and her great grandchildren: Gavin, Bella, Mia and Harlee and a sister in law, Martha (Pete) Skraba of Lake City.

 

Besides her husband Don, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters.

 

A graveside service will be held, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lake City Cemetery with Pastor David McMahon officiating with a luncheon to follow at the Lake City American Legion Post 300.   

 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Friends Ministry of Lake City.
