Manton, Michigan - David James Reynolds, of Manton, passed away to his home in heaven on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Ohana Adult Foster Care in Manton surrounded by his wife and family. He was 91.

David was born on January 11, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to James and Helen (Jira) Reynolds. He lived in Detroit for a short time before moving to the Boon area with his family in 1937. Dave was a graduate from Hoxeyville High School in 1945. After completing high school, Dave served in the National Guard Reserve from 1948 until 1954. As a young man, he worked on the farm with his father and drove a school bus for Hoxeyville Public Schools. Dave entered into marriage with the former Barbara Valle on May 30, 1976. He spent his career working as a conservation technician for the Wexford- Missaukee Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, until his time of retirement after 33 years of service in 1982. Dave volunteered his time for the Red Cross for 12 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved to be in the woods surrounded by nature. His favorite poem, 'Trees', written by Joyce Kilmer, would be recited by Dave to his grandchildren by memory. He would often be found watching his favorite sports teams, the Manton Rangers, while cheering on his grandchildren, or watching the Detroit Tigers. Dave was known for his quiet and humble spirit.
