Debra R. (Gullekson) Podbilski

Cadillac - Debra R. Podbilski, of Cadillac, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Spectrum Health's Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was 64.

Debra was born in Cadillac on August 17, 1953 to Basil and Eva Corrine (Crocker) Gullekson. She was a member of the 1972 graduating class from Cadillac High School.

Debra made her living working with Walmart, being one of the first employees in the door as they opened in Cadillac, she celebrated over 25 years of service. Debra enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her family and especially her grandkids. She could often be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen or baking one of the many new recipes she had jotted down in her notebook. Debra would often be found, keeping in touch with friends over email, or working toward beating the next level of Angry Birds. She will be deeply missed.

Debra is survived by her son, Steve Podbilski and his girlfriend, Mary of Cadillac; grandsons, Cody J. Podbilski and Damien R. Podbilski; sisters, Linda (Rex) Harley and Cathy (George) Cochrane; a brother, Lynn (Kathy) Gullekson; as well as many other loving family members, co-workers and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Gullekson.

Visitation for friends and family will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm this Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Cadillac.

Memorial services will follow the next Saturday, August 4, 2018 beginning at 11:00 am, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Scott Torkko officiating. Her urn will be laid to rest alongside her family at the Fairview Cemetery in Manton.
