Dino Tony Ortolan, age 89, of Roscommon passed away on Thursday August 23, 2018 at Crawford Continuing Care Center with his loving family by his side.
Dino was born on March 9, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Giovanni and Augusta (DeLuca) Ortolan. He served in the US Army. He was self employed as a mechanic for many years. Dino was married to Joyce Anteau who passed away in 1977, he then married Mary E. Gray in Monroe February 8, 1980 and she preceded Dino in death in 2000, and later married Norma S. Smallman on November 15, 2003 in Roscommon. He moved to Roscommon in 1983 from Newport after his retirement. Dino enjoyed snowmobiling and riding with the Wertz Warriors, he walked for many years in the Labor Day Mackinaw Bridge Walk, he enjoyed ice fishing, cutting wood and was a John Deere Toy Collector.
Dino is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Norma Ortolan of Roscommon; sons; Norm (Sandy) Ortolan of Trenton and Dean Ortolan of Newport, daughter; Diana (David) Burger of South Carolina, step-son; Charles Smallman of Columbiaville and step-daughters; Rejeana (Tony) Clark of Roscommon and Kimberly Brown of Lincoln Park, sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Joyce Ortolan, second wife; Mary Ortolan,daughter-in-law; Lyne Ortolan, step-daughter; Ramona Augustine, brother; Robert Ortolan, sisters; Dolores Plasky and Janet Bennett and one grandchild.
Per Dino's wishes cremation has taken place and private family services were held. Memorial contributions in memory of Dino are asked to be directed to Munson Hospice at www.munsonhealthcare.org.
