Elizabeth (Masunas) Junites

Cadillac, Michigan - Elizabeth (Masunas) Junites, formerly of Boon and currently of Mesick, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Samaritas Senior Living in Cadillac. She was 98.

Elizabeth was born on May 17, 1919, in Big Bass Lake, Michigan to Anton and Mary (Yasinski) Masunas. She was the middle child and last survivor of 13 children. Elizabeth entered into marriage with William Wilbur Junites on October 19, 1936 in Ludington, Michigan. The couple spent 63 years together until his time of passing on December 11, 1999. She was a proud homemaker and worked on her farm her whole life. Elizabeth loved to cook and garden, and was a master at growing African Violets. She made hundreds of beautiful homemade rag rugs on her antique loom, many of which she gave away to family and friends. Elizabeth was a lifelong member of the Boon Baptist Church and was known by the parishioners for her beautiful flowers, which she enjoyed supplying for the front of the church for everyone to admire.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Helen (Larry) Pond, Marjorie (William) Mann, William (Sally) Junites, Deloris Getty and Bruce (Sally) Junites; grandchildren, Michelle Pond, Carrie (Sammy) Crowle, Deborah Eyer, Bryan (Marsha) Mann, Barry (Sally) Junites, Amy (Steve) Norton, Tommy Rens, Scotty Rens, Bruce (Karianne) Junites and Heather (Richard) Gray; great-grandchildren, Rachel Mann, Shawna Kazemier, Drake Smith, Devin Kazemier, Lexie Mann, Aliesha Junites, Bryan, Robert and Marty Junites, Kennedy Fuller, Daelynn Merritt, Clayton Junites and Tuffton Gray; great-great-grandchild, Serenity Ellis; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Anton and Mary; 5 brothers; 7 sisters; and three grandchildren, Michael Pond, Robbie Mann and Steven Junites.

A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home. Graveside services are planned for her birthday, May 17, 2018 at Boon Cemetery. An announcement with further information will appear closer to the time of service.
