Cadillac - Gerald Justin Surprenant passed away December 6, 2018 at the age of 86.
Gerald was born April 14th, 1932, in Saginaw, MI, to Dale and Emma (Spindler) Surprenant. He attended school in Midland, MI graduating from Midland High where he played varsity sports and made many friends. He served in the Air Force as a radio control operator during the Korean War, returned home and attended college on the GI bill studying business at the University of Detroit. Jerry, as his friends knew him, began his career in retail at Daniel’s Jewelry store in Midland, and eventually retired from Meijer. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and model aviation, he was a member of the American Legion and will be missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his former wife Ann Dickman-Pullman and daughters Lois Bowen of Madera Beach FL, Ruth (Lon) Reddy of Cadillac MI. Former wife Christine Morris and daughter Jennifer Donze of Saginaw, MI. Grandchildren Hannah (Ryan) Pollington, William Reddy, Steven Reddy, Benjamin Bowen, Emily and Amber Donze.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dale and Emma Surprenant and a daughter Rose Marie.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Midland, MI will take place at a future time. The family will hold a Rosary service in the Kirkland Terrace community room located at 111 S. Simon St. on Friday December 14th at 4pm.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion.
