Harold J. Boven

Harold J. Boven, age 71 of Lake City passed away November 3, 2019 at his home.

Harold was born October 14, 1948 in Reeder Township of Missaukee County to James and Hattie (Workman) Boven..

Harold graduated from Lake City High School and served his country in the US Navy in Vietnam.

While in the service he was a Navy SeaBee and constructed hangers and runways.

Harold used those construction skills in making furniture; both household and lawn furnishing.

He was employed for 30 years and retired from working on the Michigan State University

Experiment Station in Lake City.  He enjoyed farming and grew a big garden on his property on

Jennings Road next to where he was raised on the family homestead.  Harold also spent time doing a little fishing.

He is survived by his daughter Shannon Glorioso  and son Clayton Boven both of Colorado and step children Kelly Petrimoulx and Robert Petrimoulx both of Lake City and two sisters Jennie Burton of Grand Rapids and Grace (Don) Smith of Lake City and friend Kim Wilkerson.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Freda in 1956 and brother in law Dave

Burton.
