Irene B. Kabat-Coolidge, age 95 of Prudenville passed away on Sunday November 25, 2018 at King Nursing & Rehabilitation Community.
Irene was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on January 25, 1923 to Stanley and Barbara (Bender) Leib. She worked at the Family's Grocery Store until 1967 and then as the Head Teller for Manufactures National Bank in Detroit until her retirement. Irene married Herman Kabat in 1947 in Hamtramck, Michigan until his death in 1988. She married Marshall Coolidge in Mesa Arizona in 1989. Irene spent her winters in Arizona and summers in Prudenville, Michigan. She was very active in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking great polish meals and she loved to sew and do crafts.
Irene is survived by her son; Stanley (Deborah) Kabat, grandson's; Kelly Kabat and Brian (Ashley) Kabat, great grandchildren; Evan, Ella, Derek and Addison and many nieces and nephews, along with her dear sister-in-law; Wanda Ozimkowski and dear friend; Kathy Gardner. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman Kabat and Marshall Coolidge, son; David Kabat and daughter; Theresa Kabat, brothers; Ed and Ted Leib.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at 11 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Peter Eke officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday November 28, 2018 from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
