Jack Raymond Miller of Lake City passed away January 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.
Jack was born November 29, 1933 to Raymond and Velma (Sunderland) Miller. He graduated from Merritt High School in 1951. He worked at Saginaw Steering Gear right out of high school. He worked five years in the oil fields. He was a Christmas tree grower and dairy and Elk farmer in Norwich Township for 60 years.
Jack married Loretta Mae Hoekzema on May 29, 1954. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and trapping.
Jack is survived by his wife, Loretta of 64 years and four children, Norma DuVall, Bonnie Miller, Bruce (Jane) Miller and John (Patt) Miller all of Lake City. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Jodi (Tomas) Basurto, Paul DuVall, Charney (Brielan) Miller, Jason (Michele) Miller and Kristin (Casey) Cole; five great-grandchildren Brittany DuVall, Alyssa (Zack) Lichon, Gabriela DuVall, Adriana Basurto and Gavin DuVall; and one great great granddaughter Karlie Cavasos and one sister Shelby (Larry) Norman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step father John (Mike) Wagner.
Per Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will take place at the Star City Cemetery at a later date.
Jack also requested an act of kindness for an elderly person would be appreciated in place of any contributions or donations.
