Jacque "Jack" E. Johnson, age 90, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Crawford Continuing Care Center in Grayling with his loving family by his side.
Jacque was born on February 15, 1928 in Trenton, Michigan to Frank & Mamie (Doolittle) Johnson. He worked as a Pipe Fitter for Wyandotte Chemical before retiring and moving to Houghton Lake in 1994. Jacque was married on September 25, 1948 in Wyandotte to Violet L. Kalash. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing softball and bowling; but he especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter; Ann (Steve) Rieger of Roscommon, sons; Jack (Anita) Johnson of Pinckney and Herbie Grahl of Prudenville, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Jacque was preceded in death by his parents, wife Violet, son Gary Johnson, grandson Steven Rieger and sister Janet and brother Bob.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township. Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
