John Phillip Dimmick, 89, of Houghton Lake passed away on Friday December 21, 2018 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
John was born on October 9, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Lucille (Call) Dimmick. John grew up in the Detroit area where he graduated from High School. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. John worked as a Drafting Engineer for Price-Weston in Detroit from which he retired. He was married on August 11, 1950 in Detroit to Barbara Jean Callens. John was a member of First Baptist Church of Prudenville and enjoyed doing repairs around his home and making cabinets.
Surviving Mr. Dimmick are his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara Jean Dimmick of Houghton Lake; daughter, Diana (Edward) Coleman of Prudenville; five grandchildren, Dawn Fogal, Jason(Cristine) Coleman, Mathew Serra, John Coleman, and Nickolas(Michelle) Serra; five great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sherry Cumming.
