John William Wilcox Jr., age 79, of Prudenville passed away on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on May 4, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to John and Gladys (Parrott) Wilcox. John served as a CPL in the Marines. He worked as a Project Manager for GM before retiring and moving to Prudenville in 1991. John was married on June 20, 1959 in Bremerton, Washington to Judy A. Neeley. He was a member of Houghton Lake Moose Lodge, Houghton Lake Eagles and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and enjoyed watching baseball especially the New York Yankees.
John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Judy A. Wilcox of Prudenville; sons; Duane (Janice) Wilcox of Gladwin and John Wilcox of Houghton Lake; daughter-in-law; Serena Wilcox of Saginaw, grandchildren; Jonas (Jamie) Wilcox, Jenna (Brent) Winchel, Johnny (Courtney) Wilcox and Jacob Wilcox, sisters; Gloria (Jim) Gavagan of Marion and Bev Stemple of Flint. John was preceded in death by his parents and son David Wilcox and three sisters and two brothers.
A Celebration of Life Services for John William Wilcox Jr. will be conducted on Friday July 13, 2017 at 12 pm. The family will greet friends on Thursday July 12, 2018 from 4-8 pm and Friday July 13, 2018 from 11 am until the time of the service at 12 pm at Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park. In-lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
