Karan E. Burke, age 79, of Prudenville passed away on Saturday November 16, 2019 at Crawford Continuing Care Center in Grayling.
Karan was born on November 2, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to Wayne and Elizabeth (Kokai) Konnor. She graduated from Detroit Western High School. Karan worked as a Secretary for J.L Hudson and later was a preschool teacher's aide for Trenton Public Schools. She was married on September 4, 1993 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton, Michigan to Donald G. Burke. The couple moved to Prudenville in 1995 from Dearborn. Karan was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Houghton Lake and Oscoda Lioness and St. John Lutheran Ladies Aide, Bible Circle and Alter Duty. She enjoyed scrap booking.
Karan is survived by her loving husband of 26 years; Donald Burke of Prudenville, daughter; Colleen (Eric) Fleetham of Florida, granddaughter; Elizabeth Grace and grandson; Matthew Charles, sister; Christine Grace Murray of Kentucky, seven step-children and nineteen step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Per Karan's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is scheduled at St. John Lutheran Church at 11 am on Thursday November 21, 2019. The family will greet friends at the church on Thursday from 9 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Karan are asked to be directed to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at www.psp.org. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
