Cadillac, Michigan - Lavon Irene Holcom, of Cadillac and formerly of Dighton, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Samaritas Senior Living in Cadillac. She was 79.

Lavon was born on February 17, 1938, in Dighton, Michigan to Jay and Minnie (Fullor) Gibson. Lavon entered into marriage with Ronald D. Holcom in Marion, Michigan. 

Lavon was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, who always put her family first.  She enjoyed cheering for her beloved Detroit Tigers or her grandchildren at any one of their many sporting events.  She was a faithful and active part of the Dighton Wesleyan Church.  Lavon will be deeply missed.

Lavon is survived by her loving family; her children, Craig (Kari) Holcom of Grand Haven, Tina (Gary) Campbell of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, Ryan Holcom and William "Bill" Holcom both of Dighton; 13 grandchildren, Caylee, Kelly, Brandon, Brett, Jenna, Victoria, Bryce, Steven, Kayla, Brittney, Haleigh, Devin, and Taylor; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeri Eubank of Lake City; as well as many other loving family members and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Dean Holcom in 2007; three brothers, Jack, Bud, and Spike Fewless; and two sisters, Pauline Cleveland and Arlene Gibson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Dighton Wesleyan Church, located at 19522  130th Ave., Dighton, MI, 49688. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service also at the church. Interment will follow at the Sherman Township Cemetery.
