Lee Delbert Schrader, 87, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday December 13, 2018 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
Lee was born on June 22, 1931 in Caro, Michigan to Cyril and Edith (Warren) Schrader. He grew up in the Caro area and graduated from Caro High School. Lee served as a Cpl in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Wildlife Researcher for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for many years, retiring in 1984. He was married on June 11, 1955 in Caro, Michigan to Eldonna Marie Evans. The couple moved to the Houghton Lake area from Bath in 1970. Lee enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed antiquing. He had an antique business and an extensive collection of antique bottles. His true love was spending time with his family.
Surviving Mr. Schrader are his son, Mark (Tina) Schrader of Bellaire; two daughters, Mary (Dave) Martin of Manton, and Wendy (Shawn) Gray of Harbor Springs; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eldonna Marie Schrader; sister, Eva Maxim; two brothers, Wayne Schrader, and Charles Schrader.
Funeral Services for Lee Delbert Schrader will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday December 17, 2018 from Christler Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday December 17, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial Contributions in memory of Lee are asked to be directed St. Jude Children Hospitals. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
