Manton, Michigan - Lester James Peugh Sr., resident of Colfax Township, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 with family by his side. He was 85.
Lester was born on February 24, 1933, in Meauwataka, Michigan to parents, William and Dorothy (Wolf) Peugh. He made his living with the Michigan Carton Company for numerous years, working as a maintenance engineer, before his eventual retirement in 1991. Lester entered into marriage with the former Nancy Rae Masten on April 23, 1982, celebrating 33 years together before her passing in 2015. The couple retired into the beautiful log home over looking the countryside that Les had built here in Northern Michigan. He had proudly served his country as a veteran of the armed services and will be deeply missed by his loving family.
Lester is survived by his daughter, Teresa Fletcher of Manton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy; a son, Lester James Peugh, Jr. in 2009, his son-in-law, Clay Fletcher in 2006; as well as his first wife, Dorris Joann (Wilhelm) Peugh.
Visitation for friends and family will be held today, Friday, September 14, 2018, from 1:00 until 4:00 pm at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will take place at Dayhuff Meauwataka Cemetery on Saturday September 15, 2018 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Cadillac Hospice.
