McBain, Michigan- Lillian B. Johnson, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 99.
Lillian was born on May 31, 1919 in Bessemer, Michigan to William and Helen (Nippa) Berg. She was a graduate from Ewen High School. She later attended Wayne State University, where she completed two terms of accounting. She spent her career working at the Ford Motor Company as an accountant for over 20 years in Detroit. Lillian entered into marriage with Charles Johnson on October 17, 1992 in Marion. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing, gardening and fishing. Lillian and Charles loved traveling around together before his passing. She was proudly awarded the Marion Fair Homemaker of the Year in 1971. Lillian was a faithful member of the Marion Baptist Church, where she liked to attended bible studies and be involved with the church activities. She loved the Lord as her personal savior.
Lillian is survived by her close friends and caregivers, Susan and Dean Dehaan of Marion, Leonard Dafoe of Evart, Carla Haenlein of Evart; and cousins Marian Tallman of Hancock, MI and Kathy Johnson of Bruce Crossing, MI.
Lillian's caregivers would like to thank the entire staff of Autumnwood of McBain for their tender and loving care of "Miss Lilly" during her stay there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Berg; an infant brother, Eli Berg; husband, Joseph Green; husband, Al French; husband, Leonard Costello; husband, Charles Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 3 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at Marion Baptist Church. Rev. Dennis Williams will preside. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
