Lake City, Michigan- Lloyd Vernon Robinson, of Manton, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Lake City. He was 90.
Lloyd was born on November 24, 1928 to James and Nora (Hodges) Robinson in Cherry Grove Township. He answered the call of duty serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lloyd entered into marriage with the former Marian Joy O'Dell on August 6, 1952 in Manton. The couple spent 64 years together until her time of passing on June 21, 2017. Lloyd owned and operated his own construction business for many years before helping his wife run the Irish Inn in Manton for 15 years. Throughout their marriage, Lloyd and Marian traveled around to Canada, Florida, Mexico and even Aruba. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary renewing their wedding vows in Hawaii. Lloyd enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to his garden or going fishing. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his children, Pam Winkelmann of McBain, Randy (Shelly) Robinson of Manton, Craig (Cheryl) Robinson of Manton and Jerry Ruskin of Florida; grandchildren, Jason (Jen) Luhrs, Carly (Rene) Lafreniere, Jessica (B) Andersen, Brooke (Gerald) Baker, West (Marissa Vegter) Robinson, Ethan (Miranda) Robinson, Justin Winkelmann, Tiffany (Julie Ellis) Robinson and Jace Robinson; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Pierson; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife, Marian; parents, James and Nora; son-in-law, Charles Winkelmann; grandson, Caleb Robinson; and brothers, Robert, John, Howard and Bud.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Manton. Military honors will be provided by the Cadillac Area Honor Guard.
