LouAnn Niederer Obituary

LouAnn Niederer, age 84, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Maple Ridge Living Center in Lake City with her family by her side. 

LouAnn was born on April 16, 1934 in Grayling, Michigan to Roy and Gladys (Johnson) McEvers. She retired from Houghton Lake Community Schools where she worked as a middle school teacher and a reading specialist. LouAnn was married on October 18, 1953 in Grayling, Michigan to Bob F. Niederer. She attended the First Baptist Church in Prudenville, Skeels Baptist Church in Gladwin and Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch. She volunteered for Hospice after her retirement and enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family.

LouAnn is survived by her loving husband of 65 years; Bob F. Niederer of Houghton Lake, daughter; Sally (Dirk) Zwiep of Hamilton; two grandsons; Kyle (BrieAnna) Zwiep and Dirk (Tegan) Zwiep, granddaughter; Kelly (Trent) Elders, great grandchildren; Penelope and Trip,  sister; Vicki (Dick) Gascho. She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Max Niederer and daughter; Marji Niederer, brothers; Ted McEvers and Jerry McEvers. 

Funeral Services for LouAnn Niederer are scheduled for Thursday February 7, 2019 at 1 pm at the First Baptist Church of Prudenville. Family will greet friends at the church on Thursday February 7, 2019 from 12 pm until the time of the service at 1 pm. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.
