MANTON – Lucille May Harger, longtimeresident of Manton passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at the Ohana AFC Home surrounded by her family. She was 83.

Lucille was born on Feb. 22, 1934 in Manton to George and Jennie (Riplow) Stewart, and grew up on the family farm. After graduating high school she attended classes at Northwestern Michigan College and started working at AAA in Traverse City and then later worked at Chef Pierre and Empire Bank in the mortgage department. Lucille spent the remainder of her career, until her time of retirement, working for the State Of Michigan Disability Determination Services. She entered into marriage with Caroll Harger on June 1, 1957 in Manton. Lucille loved spending time with her family, playing cards and going for car rides with her husband. The couple enjoyed watching Manton High School basketball and have attended games for the past 35 years. She was a wonderful piano player and could play the piano by ear, and even could play the piano and accordion at the same time.

Lucille is survived by her husband of 60 years, Caroll Harger of Manton; three children, Gail (John) Bader of Traverse City, Michael Harger of Houghton Lake and Paul (Barbara) Harger of Manton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George (Bonnie) Stewart Jr.; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Bruce Allen Harger, and her parents.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aides and doctors on B4 at Munson Medical Center and Munson Hospice and all of the staff at Ohana AFC home for their wonderful care.

Funeral services will be conducted onThursday Nov. 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Donald Hadfield. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Manton.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ohana AFC Home in Manton.
