Lucille Prielipp Obituary



Lake City, Michigan- Lucille Margurite Prielipp, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Whispering Pines in Lake City.  She was 101.
 
Lucille was born on August 14, 1917 to Ray D. and Florence B. (Salisbury) Richardson in Detroit, Michigan. After high school, Lucille taught at a one-room school house at the age of 18 in Harrison. She attended Central Michigan Normal for education in 1936 and later received her Bachelor's Degree in teaching. Lucille taught at various country school houses until helping start the Clare Gladwin Day School, where she was a fundamental member for many years. She also served on the Marion Public School Board for many years. Lucille entered into marriage with Wilbur F. Prielipp on April 11, 1937 in Clare. The couple spent 40 years together until his time of passing on July 3, 1977. Lucille loved to volunteer and would give her time in numerous ways from painting ladies nails at Autumnwood of McBain, quilting and donating blankets for newborn babies, serving as township clerk for Winterfield Township, and volunteering at the Kettunen Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting blankets for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, square dancing in her hand-made dresses and completing crossword puzzles. She was a member of countless clubs including the Eastern Star of Harrison, the 4-H club as a leader for over 75 years, the Marion Historical Society, the 20th Century Club, and the Eveready's of Marion. Lucille cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 
Lucille is survived by her children, Bernard (Anna) Prielipp of Marion, Barry (Annette) Prielipp of Marion, Fred (Christie) Prielipp of Marion and John (Jean) Prielipp of Marion; grandchildren, Byron (Lisa), Bryan, Kristine (Mike), Kelly Jane, Jody, Kelly Paul, Janae, Jaron (Sarah), Cade (Danyel), Jeremy (Kellie), Becky and Derek (Mandy); 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Bennett of Texas; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; granddaughter, Jasmin Prielipp; grandson, Tim Richter; and a special friend, Jack Fewless.
 
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1 p.m. with visitation held from 11 a.m. until the time of services at Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Mort to preside. Interment will take place at Winterfield Township Cemetery.
 
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Eveready Club or the Marion Historical Society.
