Margaret Allen Obituary

Manton - Margaret Virginia Allen, of Manton, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 81.

Margaret was born on June 6, 1937, in Manton, Michigan to John Christian and Gertrude Elizabeth (Gonyer) Cox. She entered into marriage with Roland Allen on March 6, 1954, in Manton. The couple spent 35 years together, until his time of passing in 1989.  Margaret enjoyed every opportunity to be outdoors.  She often spent time fishing many of the area inland lakes and rivers.  Margaret created memories while camping with family, or while out hunting for mushrooms with her beloved dog, Jamie.  She was an incredibly proud and supportive grandmother, attending most every event her grandchildren were involved in to cheer them on.  She will be deeply missed.

Margaret is survived by her children,  Brian "Skinner" (Ginger) Allen, Barbara (Paul) Harger, Mark Allen and Kevin (Faith) Allen, all of Manton; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Donna Kessler; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Gertrude; her husband, Roland; a brother, Charlie; and four daughters, Colleen Reynolds, Cheryl Werden and both Deanna and Brenda Allen in infancy.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1pm, with visitation held on hour prior. Officiating will be Pastor Ben Pike.  A luncheon and opportunity for fellowship will follow at Living Word Ministries Church in Manton. Interment will take place at Greenwood Township Cemetery in Manton at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
