Marvel Lorraine (Losey) McCarrick

Marvel Lorraine McCarrick, age 90, of Prudenville passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at her home.

Marvel was born on August 2, 1929 in Germfask, Michigan to Orley and Gladys (Holbrook) Losey. She worked as a merchandiser for Sanders Confectionery in Detroit for many years, and later worked in the bakery at Carters of Houghton Lake. Marvel was married on December 3, 1949 in Manistique, Michigan to Raymond McCarrick. She moved to the Prudenville area 40 years ago from Garden City. Marvel enjoyed knitting, playing cards with her friends at Maple Grove, she loved to socialize and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Marvel is survived by her daughter; Keitha Kurtz of Houghton Lake, son; Ray (Mary) McCarrick of Saint Helen, three grandchildren; Brent McCarrick, Brandy (Justin) Valdez and Jaimie (Jon) Dent, five great-grandchildren; Cody McCarrick, Christopher Farmer, Madison Valdez, Alexander Valdez and Logan Dent, great-great grandson; Carter Platek and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Raymond  McCarrick, daughter; Marvel McCarrick, granddaughter; Kaitlin Rae Kurtz, great-grandson; Xzavier Valdez, brothers; Fred Losey, Norman  Losey and Everett Losey, sisters; Ruby Gilroy and Dawn  Hollingshead and son-in-law; James Kurtz. 

Funeral Services for Marvel Lorraine McCarrick will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday August 23, 2019 from Houghton Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. George Spencer officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Germfask, Michigan at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday August 23, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Houghton Lake United Methodist Church.
