Michael Robert Nixon

Michael Robert Nixon, age 21, of Roscommon passed away on Monday May 6, 2019 at Munson Medical Center-Grayling Hospital as a result of an automobile accident.

Michael was born on November 4, 1997 in Lansing, Michigan to Robert and Kimberlee (Teelander) Nixon. He lived his whole life in the Roscommon area. He graduated from Roscommon High School in 2015. He was pursuing a career in computer science and was currently working at Classic Computer in Roscommon. Michael loved the outdoors, camping and hiking. He was involved with the Boy Scout Program for many years. Michael loved his golden retriever dogs and working on older model pick up trucks. Michael was the best of all of us. He laughed easily and loved openly. The world will be dim with his absence. We will forever be held by the warmth of his memory. 

Michael is survived by his parents; father, Robert (Amy) of Roscommon, mother; Kimberlee (Roger) of Edmore, paternal grandparents; Robert (Sandra) Nixon of Houghton Lake, maternal grandmother; Jane Binger of Higgins Lake, maternal grandfather; Gary (Helen) Teelander of Custer, sisters; Nicole Heil of Hawaii, Candace (Jeff) Richardson of Merritt, Kayla Nixon (Bob) of White Cloud, Abigail Brewer and Emma Brewer, brothers; Ethan Brewer, Austin Brewer and Evan Brewer, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his Great Grandma Schwartz, Great Papa Schwartz, Great Grandma Nixon, his Aunt Michelle Nixon and his favorite dog Bella.       

Funeral Services for Michael Robert Nixon will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday May 11, 2019 from Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel with Rev. Thomas Hoffmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Rocommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday May 10, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Michael are asked to be directed to Roscommon Boy Scouts Troop 944. Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
