Michael J. Pettengill

Manton - Michael James Pettengill, of Manton and Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 28, 2018. He was 49.

Mike was born on March 29, 1969, in Grand Rapids , Michigan to Michael and Lynn (Clark) Pettengill. He was raised in Manton, attending school, and spending a great many years there before an eventual move to Texas.  It was in Texas that Mike met and married the former Donna Wallace-Albright. 

Mike was a friend to many and could strike up conversation with just about anyone he met.  His personable nature went right along with how much of a character he truly was. Being full of life, Mike, made the best of any situation.  He enjoyed spending time fishing, working on cars, snowmobiling and just loved being outdoors.  He will be deeply missed for the great man he was.   

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Donna Albright of Manton; daughters, Mikayla Pettengill of Cadillac, and Alexis Pettengill of Traverse City; his mother, Lynn Pettengill of Manton; brothers, Tobey (Danielle) Pettengill and Clinton (Tainell) Pettengill; nephews, Luke, Logan, Tristan, Urijah, and Elias; step-daughters, Jessica (James) Richardson  and Alyssia Albright, grandchildren, Aiden, Steven, Jerri Lee, Ruby, Anthony, and Vincent; as well as many other friends, and loving family members. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Jay Pettengill.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon, on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Cherry Grove Church of the Nazarene, with visitation one hour prior. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Donna Albright.
