Cadillac, Michigan - Nancy Jane Porteous, of Cadillac passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her home. She was 78.

Nancy was born on March 21, 1939, in Cadillac, Michigan to Bernard and Elsie (Drake) Planck. She entered into marriage on May 23, 1959, with Walter Joseph Porteous in Cadillac, Michigan. Walter and Nancy loved to travel together all over the states. The couple spent 55 years together until his time of passing on July 23, 2014. Nancy spent her career working as a manager for CWTA until her time of retirement. She enjoyed watching cooking shows in her spare time. Nancy loved to meet up with her past fellow co-workers and enjoy lunch and fellowship with her friends on a monthly basis.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Walter Dean (Diane) Porteous of Cadillac, Michigan and Jamie (John) Houdek of Suffolk, Virginia; one grandson, Eric Joseph Porteous; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Porteous and her parents.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac at a later date.
