Patricia "Pat" Klubeck Obituary

Cadillac- Patricia Ann "Pat" Klubeck (nee LaPrise), of Cadillac, went to sleep with her Lord on October 20, 2018, at Samaritas Senior Living in Cadillac. She was 78.

Pat was born May 18, 1940, to Orval and Marion LaPrise of Detroit. She attended 12 years of Catholic school under the Adrian Dominican nuns, and graduated from St. Theresa high school in 1958. Her older brother, Michael "Mike" preceded her in death by only 3 months. She met her future husband of 54 years, Reg, at the Burroughs Corporation of Detroit, and was warned that office romances don't last. After getting married on September 16, 1961, the couple eventually bought a house in Garden City, Michigan, and started a family. The family moved to Cadillac in 1972 after Reg had been hired as a plant engineer for Rexair. Over the years, Pat worked for CFCS (Catholic Family and Children's Services), where she earned her apprentice substance abuse counselor certification through the State of Michigan. She was also very active in the Al-Anon organization, and was listed as the Cadillac contact in the Al-Anon World Book for over 30 years. She worked for many years at Friend of the Court in Wexford County. Pat was the first office manager when OASIS first opened in Cadillac, and helped out at their shelter. In later years, she worked at their Second Chance thrift store as a cashier. In her younger days, she greatly enjoyed sewing, and often made clothes for her children. Pat also had a very active faith life, and back when her health allowed it, she served as both a Lector and Minister of the Eucharist at St. Ann Church.

Pat is survived by her children, Reg A. Klubeck of Cadillac, Bill (Tammy) Klubeck of Zeeland and Becky (Reg) Klubeck Harris of Cadillac. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda LaPrise; nieces, Marlene (Stortz) Carron of Farmington Hills and Pamela (Klubeck) Woodman; nephews, Allen Stortz of Livonia, David Klubeck of Ann Arbor, Tom LaPrise of Garden City, Chris LaPrise of Kalkaska and John LaPrise of Wayne; grandchildren, Troy, Terry, Kelly, Matthew and Laura Klubeck; and a great-grandchild, Gabe Freeman of Zeeland.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Marion (Wilkenson) LaPrise of Detroit; her husband, Reginald Ferdinand Klubeck of Cadillac; her brother, Michael Christopher LaPrise of Manistee; and her nephew, Michael LaPrise, Jr. of Gaylord.

The celebration of Pat's life will begin with visitation at Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. Ann Church, 800 W. 13th Street, in Cadillac. Visitation at the church will begin at 11 a.m. with the service starting at 12 noon and a luncheon to following in the church hall. Fr. Michael Janowski will preside.
